  • Vegas – Face the Ace Auditions

I’m in Vegas once again, this trip is a little unique from the rest.  I won a qualifier on FullTilt to have a chance to be on a new poker TV show called “Face the Ace” on NBC primetime Saturday nights at 9PM.  The qualifier didn’t cost me anything but a mere 2500 FullTilt points and had about 850 entrants.  It took the top 10 finishers who won a $3k prize package which includes round-trip airfare to and from Vegas, 4 nights/5days comp’ed stay at the South Point Hotel/Casino, $500 in spending cash, and a chance to audition for the show.

The show has a pretty neat concept that has a fusion of reality gameshow and television poker.  There are two contestants per show and each contestant will have to choose between four smokey glass doors.  Behind each glass door is a FullTilt pro which contains the likes of Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Howard Lederer, Erik Lingren, Chris Ferguson, and many more.  The pro that is behind the door of your choosing you must challenge to a No-Limit Hold’em heads-up tournament match.  You lose, you walk away with nothing but if you win you have the choice of walking away with $40k in winnings or choosing another door with a different pro behind it for a chance to win $200k.  If you so happen to challenge the next pro and lose, again you walk away with absolutely nothing.  The process repeats again if you so happen to defeat the 2nd pro, this time you can walk away with $200k in winnings or challenge the last and final pro for a chance to win $1 million dollars.

Hopefully there’s a good chance we’ll get on the show.  Keep the lookout on Saturday nights on NBC 9PM PST.  I’ll be here in Vegas till Monday hopefully doing the taping.  I’ll do my best  to keep everyone updated.  Wish us luck!
