Even though it’s only been the first two events, FTOPS and I aren’t exactly starting off in the right foot.  I played the best I could in Event #1 and ran as deep as I possibly could, could’ve probably survived till the money but isn’t really my style, nor any other winning player’s style.  On top of my FTOP disappointments I’ve been really spewy when it comes to my rebuy tournaments.  As you can see I’m quite a bit of a rebuy monkey and actually proud of it because it usually gets me a big stack by the end of the rebuy period with good contention to make a big finish, but this strategy isn’t so profitable when you don’t particularly run too hot. I may have to tone down a bit on the amount of rebuys I allow myself, so basically a couple notches down from infinite ;)   Worst comes to worse, I’m hardly even cashing to recover some of my losses.

Being completely true to myself, I feel like I’m playing at the top of my game in most of my tournaments.  I truly believe playing live for a while helps you with your online game, I’m not too exactly sure how, maybe it helps with the whole patience aspect.  I notice everytime I go from playing live to online I usually output better results online shortly after.  It might not show in my results thus far but hopefully I could prove my theory right in the next week or so.  I’m sure playing online helps your live game as well, but feel like it’s a double-edged sword.  Playing online exposes you to a lot of situations in a shorter amount of time than live due to the faster rate of hands per hour.  You’ll feel yourself become more familiar with specific situations when they arise in live play.  On the other hand, online players have a harder time adjusting to the patience aspect of live play, going from seeing anywhere from 100-200+ hands per hour online to only seeing 30-60 hands per hour live, if that!  This is definately one of the toughest adjustments for me when I started to play more live tournaments, it’s a work in progress.  My point to all this is that I believe going from live to online is mostly, if not all, beneficial to your game but going from online to live has it’s pros and cons.  Some may disagree but this is all from my experience switcing back and forth.  I’d like to hear some other opinions and views on this topic if anybody wants to leave some feedback, don’t hesitate to comment.

Time to get some rest and wake up early to play FTOPS Event #4, which is a $200 buy-in with one rebuy and one add-on.  Good night.
