Let me start off by saying that I think I'm not running bad anymore but then again I'm not 100% convinced I'm running good either. It's kind of odd because they'll have me run decent or at times like a God in the early to mid stages of my tournaments, which will at least coast me into the money. I play really well and chip up very nicely and when it comes to the late stages of the tournament I'll lose all my flips and even some of my 80/20 situations, and if you're familiar with FullTilt structures all it takes is one or two of those beats in key spots for you to get felted. I'm definately not complaining because I am running better this week than I have in the past month and a half, but it would be nice to run good late so that I score a big win. I've almost forgotten the smell of victory since it's been quite a while now, on the good note, I do feel like a big win is coming my way in the near future, I can feel it.
The closest I've got to a nice score was on Saturday night in the $75k taking 4th place for just over $6k. I felt like I had a vice grip on this final table since I was chip leader and there was no one I really recognized except for one regular but he was short stacked, so I wasn't too worried about him. It got four handed and I had good position on who I thought was the worst player left. He was loose and aggressive and seen him open hands really wide in steal positions, so to counter my gameplan was to 3-bet and call his shoves very light. I lost an all-in vs. this opponent with my A7o vs. his KJs which left me with around 15BB. A few hands later I re-shoved with 108s vs his A4s and he held up to knock me out. My two plays probably are really marginal and questionable to a lot of players and I know a lot of good players wouldn't favor them, but it made sense to me at the time and I really don't regret it. If I can find the hand histories I'll post them up and hopefully get some feedback on them.
The World Series of Poker is just around the corner starting the end of May and running all the way till early July. There will also be 6 or 7 more events this year than last year for a total of 57 events. Last year I played four of the prelim events and the $10k buy-in Main Event, this year I plan to play at least ten prelim events and the ME. They've been running satellites for $12k and $2k prize packages used for the WSOP. So I've been playing those on a daily basis, I keep bubbling or getting really close to winning my ME seat but just can't quite get there. I know I'm going to win my seat, it's just a matter of time if I keep persistant. Good news is I just took down a $2k prize package for one of the smaller buy-in WSOP events. I'm going to continue to play the satty's and collect as many seats as I can before the end of May. Bracelet here I come!
